Standard Operating Procedures – Eye Corneal Ulcer & Tarsorrhaphy

1. Examine the pet’s eyes in more detail including ophthalmoscopy.
2. Fluorescein eye stain examination on both vision is mandatory for all eye cornea injuries. Record extent and depth associated with the ulcer and surrounding areas and take digital images (part view and view that is front of both eyes showing the outcome of the fluorescein eye test.
3. If the attention ulcer is certainly not infected, is recent (less than 2 days), >3mm in diameter and is also a strong ulcer, advise tarsorrhaphy or eyelid flap that is 3rd.
